Ken McDonald - Consulting Surveyor / Director
Ken established the business in early 2004 after gaining 14 years experience surveying in and around Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast.
Ken is a registered Consulting Surveyor with both Cadastral and Engineering Endorsements with the Surveyors Board of Qld. He now has over 30 years experience in the industry and is involved in all aspects of the surveying profession from Residential surveys, Subdivisions of both Land & Buildings, large & small scale engineering & construction projects.
Kens experience with Land subdivision, Building & community titles subdivision is extensive from smaller suburban “in-fill” subdivision to larger greenfield developments.
His passion & expertise enable him to fine tune every survey to meet a specific brief and exceed client’s expectations to continually deliver a high-quality service in the most cost effective manner.
Away from the business Ken is a very keen photographer, he enjoys camping & fishing with family & friends.
Shannon - Executive Operations Manager
Shannon has been with the company since 2014 and is a valued and trusted member of KM Surveys. Shannon’s friendly approach & attention to detail ensures that our office is run smoothly. She is responsible for all administrative tasks and does her best to ensure that your survey requirements are taken care of in a professional and timely manner.
Away from work, Shannon enjoys time with her family and is involved in swimming club, surf lifesaving club & netball activities.
Dave Lew – Senior Surveyor
Dave is a Registered Surveyor who has recently gained his Cadastral Endorsement with the Surveyors Board of Qld. Dave has over 25 years of experience in the surveying industry and has been working for Ken McDonald Surveys since 2016. Dave has a broad knowledge in all aspects of cadastral surveying as well as experience in both civil and building projects.
His extensive and varied experience within the surveying industry allows him to communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders to maintain strong client relations and deliver quality surveying services.
On the weekends Dave enjoys time with the family, fishing and surfing.
Ryan Greer - Surveyor
Ryan is a registered Surveying Associate with over 16 years’ experience in the industry. He has been working with Ken McDonald Surveys for over 5 years and has extensive experience in many aspects of cadastral & engineering surveying. Ryan’s time working in both local government and private sector has provided exposure to a large range of projects. Ryan’s friendly demeanour, attention to detail and calm approach to problem solving make him a valued member of the KM Surveys team.
In his own time, Ryan is a family man and enjoys spending time on the golf course.
Rowan Hunt – Senior Survey Draftsman
Rowan has over 15 years in the survey industry and is an important member of the team. Rowan has experience using AutoCad, Bricscad Magnet, 12D & GIS software
He is also our ADAC specialist, being very experienced and capable in producing as-constructed documentation for local authorities & service providers.
In his own time Rowan enjoys time with the family time, travel & movies.
Elliott Black – Cadet Surveyor
Elliott is currently studying a bachelor of spatial science with honours in surveying at USQ. He has previously completed a degree in Mathematics/Computer programming. He joined the company 2020 to gain some practical experience to complement the theory he is learning at university. Working alongside the other surveyors, Elliott assists in the completion of a range of field work including; Boundary surveys, Engineering Survey & and drafting. Elliott is quickly becoming a key person within the team.
Away from the office, Elliott likes spending time outdoors with friends & family.
Alan McKitrick - Surveyor
Alan is a Registered Surveying Associate with 25 years experience. His main area of expertise is in construction & set-out but has worked in a variety of areas of surveying including cadastral & engineering. From his time working in construction Alan has developed a keen eye for detail and the ability to communicate effectively and make decisions to achieve a practical outcome within a budget.
Away from the office, Alan enjoys spending time with family, bicycle riding & swimming.
Allan Tannock – Cadastral Surveyor - Quality Assurance Officer
Allan is a registered Cadastral Surveyor who has been working in the industry for 50 years. Alan brings a wealth of knowledge and experience into the office that all staff draw from when needed. Allan’s history working both in the private & public sector of the surveying profession in Queensland have him well suited in his role to oversee the reinstatement process & plan checking/quality assurance.
Allan is a valued member of the team. His knowledge of the history of surveying in Queensland is second to none and his time as a plan examiner in the Department is invaluable for the continued delivery of our high standards.
In his own time, Allan enjoys travelling & is a keen bicycle rider.
