Photo & ALS Control are points selected &/or placed on the ground, then coordinated by precise GPS measurements. These control points are then used to tie together the Photogrammetric and/or ALS data and provide reliable ground truthing to the large scale imagery and data sets. This is proven, state of the art technology and provides a more cost effective solution with less impact on the environment for larger scale projects.

Terrain Model

A Terrain model is a 3D digital model illustrating the rise & fall of the land. A terrain model is typically extracted from the results of a Topographic Survey or compiled from existing records provided by local and state government authorities. The terrain model can be used for planning & design, for mapping & management of overland flow through to detailed engineering design & cut/fill calculations on developments.

Do I Need a Professional GPS & Mapping Surveyor?

GPS is actually an integral tool used in land mapping, particularly where accuracy is key. They provide a quicker delivery of results you can trust when compared to other types of surveys. It is also quite technical and cannot be read by someone who has not been trained.

Under Queensland legislation, GPS and mapping surveys must be completed by a professional third party with the appropriate training. Specialist equipment and knowledge is often required for these particular types of surveys and it is not certifiable if completed by someone without the appropriate qualifications.
